Privacy policy
Last updated 2026-08-02
This policy explains, in plain language, what AI Builder Brief collects when you visit this website or subscribe to the newsletter, who processes that information, and how to get out.
This is a description of our actual practices, not legal advice, and it is not a guarantee of any particular legal outcome. If you have a specific compliance requirement, talk to a lawyer.
Who runs this
AI Builder Brief is published by AI Builder Brief. You can reach a person at hello@aibuilderbrief.com. Postal address: [Add your mailing address before launch].
What we collect
Your email address
When you submit the signup form we collect the email address you type in. That is the only piece of personal information we ask you for. We use it to send you the newsletter and transactional messages about your subscription — nothing else.
How you found us
When you arrive from an advertisement, a link someone shared, or a search result, the URL may carry tracking parameters. We read and store the following alongside your subscription so we can tell which advertisements and channels are worth paying for:
- UTM parameters — utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term
- Referral parameters — ref, source, campaign
- Advertisement identifiers — including any identifier an advertising network such as Kickbacks.ai appends to the click-through link
- The page you landed on and, where your browser sends it, the site you came from
- The date and time you first arrived
These are held in your browser's sessionStorage until you submit the form, then
stored as custom fields against your subscriber record at our email provider. They are
cleared when you close the tab if you never subscribe. We do not set advertising cookies and
we do not use cross-site trackers.
Website analytics
We use privacy-friendly, cookieless website analytics to count page views and see which referrers send traffic. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint you, and does not build a profile that follows you across other sites. That is why you are not being asked to dismiss a cookie banner.
Server logs and abuse prevention
Our hosting provider processes your IP address as a normal part of serving the page and blocking abuse. We use the IP address only to rate-limit the signup form so it cannot be flooded. We do not store it against your subscription.
Who processes your data
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — stores your subscription, custom fields and email engagement, and delivers every email we send. Kit privacy policy.
- Cloudflare — hosts and serves this website, provides the analytics described above, and handles security filtering. Cloudflare privacy policy.
These providers process data on our behalf. Both operate internationally, so your information may be processed outside your country.
Email tracking
Our email provider records whether an email was opened and whether links in it were clicked. We use that to judge whether an issue was useful and to stop sending to addresses that have gone dead. If you would rather not be counted, most email clients let you block remote images, which prevents open tracking.
What we will never do
- We will not sell your email address.
- We will not rent, trade or hand over our list as a raw mailing file to anyone.
- We will not pass your email address to a sponsor, advertiser or partner company unless you have clearly and explicitly asked us to for a specific thing — and even then, only for that thing.
- We will not add you to a different newsletter you did not sign up for.
Advertising, sponsorships and affiliate links
The newsletter is free, and over time it may carry sponsorships and affiliate links. Where a link earns us a commission or a placement was paid for, it will be labelled as such in the issue itself. See our terms and disclosures. Advertising never gives anyone access to your email address.
Unsubscribing and your choices
Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link in the footer, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately — you do not have to email us or explain yourself. You can also:
- Ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
- Ask us to delete it entirely, which removes your subscriber record and the attribution fields attached to it.
Email hello@aibuilderbrief.com and we will action it. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or US state privacy laws; we will honour those requests regardless of where you are.
How long we keep things
We keep your subscriber record until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Unsubscribed records are retained in a suppressed state so we do not accidentally email you again. Aggregate, non-identifying analytics are kept indefinitely.
Children
This newsletter is intended for adults working with AI tools. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects how we handle your data, we will update the date at the top of this page and say so in an issue of the newsletter.
